Supporting AwStats

Hi,

Webalizer is "ok" but I really prefer AwStat, another open source stats manager package. Would it be too much to ask to support that one, or both?

I agree that AwStats is nicer than Webalizer when it comes to reports. The reason we're not using that package instead is that it requires Perl to be running on the machine that hosts the stats. Since we're "hosting" the stats directly from your S3 bucket, that wouldn't quite work.

In order to provide AwStats, we would need to keep processed versions of everybody's logfiles living on our server so that awstats could generate its reports. Having seen the tremendous size of some of the logfiles that we process every day, I think it's safe to say that we'd struggle to pull it off and still only charge $2/month.

It's certainly not ruled out though. We might in the future simply keep an extra EC2 machine alive full time to run such a service for people that want it. I'll keep you posted.
