Handling multiple distributions

Hi there,

we have one bucket with 4 Cloudfront distributions:

- public downloads (Cloudfront downloads)
- private downloads (Same as above, with private content enabled)
- public streaming (Cloudfront streaming)
- privat streaming (Cloudfront streaming with private content enabled)

When we try setting up logging accounts using your system, it is impossible to tell which is what - all we're seeing is 4 "nextslide-data" bucket with identical names.

We need to analyze logs for all 4 distributions. What's the best way to set this up?

Thank you

You're right. The way we handle streaming (in its current beta form) is to drop logs and stats into the same folders as they would be for standard CF logs.

That'll probably change in the near future, but in the meantime you'll have to pick one of those 4 things that you'd like to see reports for.

I'll keep you posted.

We've made a change to our naming conventions so that Streaming distributions log to a different folder than standard ones. That should get you halfway to where you want to be.

We still don't make any distinction between private and public channels on a distribution, and probably won't anytime soon. (You're actually the first to ask for that feature.)

Go ahead and set up that Streaming distribution again. It'll start sending logs and reports to their own folders, so you'll be able to get two sets of reports.
